A cause célèbre places my hand on the lever, delivers the lemon bead, wrung from wet-nap to my tongue overlaid with thirst. I throw a knife at the sleeper astride the balloon, blue lids with the mystic stretch gone out. My dozen angry blood cells were frowning in the jury box. Having nothing to say, I said ... [unintelligible]. The truth is you're always looking through a tube. Could we have those trees cleared out of the way? And the houses, volcanoes, empires? The natural panorama is false, the shadows it casts are so many useless plenitudes. __ Greetings lovely people. I’m reminded of Bruce Lee at this point, who developed a “style without style.” Are we talking “optional apocalypse” or the hapless subject of the hegemon, whom Ashbery locates elsewhere, wandering in a beautiful, eye-catching 20th-century skyscape with clouds, wires, and utility poles, soaring up while moving down, into a gooeyness and gumminess, a thickness of texture, hard, ungiving and indigestible — “clump — bends trill a jam” “mid punt egg zero” “copra stewage” “globule” — suddenly a black light bulb appears, radiating light. It’s one of those aha moments, or one of those nuh-uh moments. In 2003, for instance, two tribal militias planned and implemented a campaign called “Effacer Le Tableau”, in which they systematically exterminated local forest pygmies. In the age of “fair and balanced” media, chicks dig war, right? It is thus that the Fate of the Commons and Autonomy itself is an Imperative Function of the Efficacy of the Poets’ Song. Will their Lyrics be well enough Advanced to Hijack the Technoitopian Scheming of the Imperial Regime? Can a Pringle really DIE?
“Let the cold flow with its silence of scythes, / I’ll not ululate here in a ‘no’ that’s empty...” This pathway does not allow for cortical processing. For 100 years, maybe 3000, a lack the sequence must undo, overturning postponement our wanting’s askance with preposterous now. Why these baubles, hyperactive conduits into the chaos of our lost-at-sea? A 400-year-old Japanese Buddhist temple has solved the problem of graveyard over-crowding. Mourners swipe a smart card encoded with loved ones’ data. The ashes are then conveyor belted to the Space of Peace. After 10 minutes and 42 seconds queuing most people in the UK lose it entirely. In 2010, 6.1 trillion text messages were sent worldwide. 41% of young people in Spain are presently unemployed. How do we arrive at our judgments about “good” and “bad” in art, music, and writing? [I don’t know about the rest of you, but for months now I’ve been walking around saying, “My tits break.”] Oh, really? I figured out what those little sticks are that I sometimes find around the burners. They’re burnt pieces of uncooked spaghetti.
