The day after I found stuffed between two seats a bag of heroin the size of a bag of sugar, I found Of Walking in Ice. It was the summer after my A levels and I was cleaning planes at Gatwick airport. It was a great job: 747 tails protruding from hangars at sunset; hitching rides on planes as they were moved around the gates; learning how the bowser truck worked and avoiding catching a shift on it. I handed in the drugs, but smuggled the book off airside in a gash bag. The photo on the cover — of a man in a wintry landscape caught in mid-air early on into a faceplant, a front flip or a somersault — who was he? Why was he there, wherever there was? What was he doing? Do those brackets indicate the Husserlian epoché, the Heideggerian “worlding”, the Derridean sous rature, or the set theory way of indicating all the elements of a set, or??? Not that it matters ... To which the reply was “sous rapture. Not that it matters …” Thank you NETFLIX for turning me into a shivering, dual-cell-phoned, pompous valet-identifying crack-head : Lee’s eating pink ladies and cuties; in tufted gray sky outside cardinals make a moue with waxy candy-corn beaks. The SWP is destroying itself, as it “reifies patriarchy with its twin hierarchy”, as Donna Fleischer says. Rape Culture. The Lyric Conceptualist is not necessarily a / feminine body, but it has the stink of the / impure, a certain irreverence for the master, / therefore it is by default, feminine in / construction. It was a sprightly white wine. Do Your Characters Have a Dental Plan? “There’s been a great upsurgence” said the announcer but I didn’t catch what of & what of where. The quietest chirp from it touches my < irregular > heart!

Now whenever I forget that there is more than just love in the world WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH is the deafening sound. Some children open a large box of toys and climb in and we can watch them descend for a while until they reach the room of 1,369 light bulbs.
