i've been listening to a lot of old time radio shows broadcast on satellite radio. the station also does vintage ads. one that cracked me up -- the ad must've been circa 1951 -- that was asking for book donations to counter the flood of -- gasp! -- free! books and publications from communist countries printed and distributed to spread the filth of pinko lies. cracked me up as the i think the announcer used the words 'reds' and 'pinko'.
i'm telling ya, the madness never ends.

The McCarthy Invesigations !
( I bet that you can find film of them on the net)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_McCarthy
one thing that has always 'miffed me" is that two young lawyers then working for McCarthy as aids to all of this and who became big-time leaders of our nation:
Richard M. Nixon AND Robert (Bobby) Kennedy !
Makes one wonder .. a culture founded on a solid plinth of fucking lies?
