The part I like best

is the part where time progresses
from “Girl singing.”
to “Day.”

girl singing/ day

maybe even:
night/ girl singing/ day

a progression as
a girl sings
early in the morning
before daybreak

vocalise

Imagine the sequence of events
and the insistence
imagine the insistence

and yet again
imagine if the poem
were only two lines:

Girl singing.
Day.
